Our New Kitchen Runner + Our Kitchen Details
I finally got around to ordering a runner for our kitchen - we needed something to tie together all of the different things we had going on in there and I really wanted to make the blue cabinets pop, because sometimes they can tend to pull more gray. I really wanted a vintage Persian rug but that was definitely not in our budget right now + with two dogs it seemed like a disaster waiting to happen. It took a long time for me to find one I liked but finally saw this one on Wayfair and decided to give it a go.
The color is definitely off on the website, because this rug is much more vibrant in person BUT I absolutely love it. It goes perfectly in our kitchen and makes our gold hardware and the cabinet color pop. Even Damon has told me how much he likes it. Here’s a photo in our kitchen

We did double-stacked cabinets to take advantage of all of the storage available on top of our regular cabinets. We also put our microwave in the island to maximize counter space because I wanted a hood over the oven - just installed a regular inset microwave.
